Al Bashir Opens Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit

Khartoum – President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir opened, here yesterday, Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit
of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), in the presence of Chief Justice, Haider Ahmed Daffallah, Presidency Minister, Dr  Fadul Abdallah, NISS Chief First Lieutenant General, Salah Abdullah, and Attorney General, Omer Ahmed Mohamed.
Al Bashir said, in his speech, that he is concern of corruption combatting as a vice that undermines the state and the society, saying that the state has taken several procedures and laws and strengthened Auditor General position for its keenness to preserve and protect the public money and corruption combatting, adding that Auditor General presents his annual report directly to the public opinion through the parliament in an opened session.
“By the establishment of this integrated unit, which includes representatives of different state’s bodies, we can assure on the protection of public money”, directing all the state’s bodies not to take any fees on the national roads, but only the known fees, adding “ there is only one fee, which is the national road fee”.
Al Bashir praised the justice and security services and their good dealing with different issues, saying, “ We assure citizens that their public money is preserved and in honest hands”
NISS Chief, Salah Gosh said that  the said unit targets the corruption, saying that it is  combining of experiences from different institutions , indicating that purpose of establishing the unit is to conduct full and accurate investigation  in the corruption cases, affirming that the NISS is keen not to accuse people without evidence, and to reach to facts without defamation  of any body, and more professionally  in the evaluation of evidences and information, adding; “ We are keen to retrieve what has been looted in the form of tax evasion or smuggling of gold and fuel”.
