Government Committee Recommends International Coordination To Combat Illegal Immigration

SMC- The Legal Committee against Human Trafficking stressed the importance of cooperating with States and relevant international organizations and strengthening partnerships to raise national capacities to reduce cross-border crime and to support victims of illegal migration and human trafficking.The meeting, which was chaired by Attorney General Omar Ahmed Mohamed on Monday, discussed the challenges of combating such crimes and measures to protect victims of trafficking.The Committee recommended the need for coordination between national bodies and mechanisms working in the field.The meeting addressed national legislation and the extent to which it addressed these issues, focusing on anti-human trafficking laws, the Passports and Immigration Act, the Domestic Servants Act, the Asylum Regulation Act and the relevant state laws in the light of international conventions ratified by the Sudan.
