Britain Congratulates Sudan on its Efforts for Signing of South Sudan Peace Agreement

Khartoum, Aug. 7 (SUNA) - The government of Britain has congratulated Sudan on its hosting to the negotiations between the South Sudanese parties which resulted in the signing of South Sudan peace agreement.In a press statement after her meeting with the Vice – President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, at the Republican Palace Tuesday, the visiting British Minister of State for Africa at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and Minister of State for International Development, Harriett Baldwin, said that her country welcomes this agreement and hails the efforts exerted by Sudan for this accomplishment.The British Minister indicated that she discussed with the Vice – President the situation in Darfur and the peace process in Sudan, adding that she will visit Darfur on Wednesday. She said that the meeting has also discussed the situation of the strategic dialogue between Sudan and Britain and means of enhancing the bilateral relations.
