Consultations to Participate Sudan in the Regional Protection Force in the South Sudan

Khartoum - Foreign Minister, Al-Didiri Mohamed Ahmed and UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Pierre discussed, on Monday, implementation of the IGAD recommendation to add 4,000 troops from Sudan, Uganda, Somalia and Djibouti to the regional protection force in South Sudan to help implement the peace agreement.
A joint meeting between the two sides in New York on Tuesday discussed the situation in Darfur as the UNAMID exit strategy continues to be implemented, as Darfur entered the transition from peacekeeping to stability, peacebuilding and development, in addition to the situation in Abyei in the light of the recent UN Secretary-General's restructuring recommendations.
Meanwhile, Al-Dirdiri met with the Foreign Minister of Belarus where they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations through the activation of the agreements signed by the two presidents during the visit of the Belarusian President to Sudan, in addition arrangements for the expected visit of President Al-Bashir to Belarus soon.
