Sudan To Host Meeting On Libyan Settlement On Thursday – Egyptian Foreign Ministry

CAIRO (UrduPoint News / Sputnik – 28th November, 2018) Sudanese capital Khartoum will host a meeting on the settlement of the Libyan crisis on November 29, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
“The meeting will focus on the latest developments in Libya, the exchange of views between the neighboring countries as well as ways to advance efforts to restore security and stability in the country,” the ministry said in a statement, adding that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will represent Cairo at the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry said that the talks would be attended by the representatives of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA), the United Nations, the ArabLeague, the European Union as well as France and Italy.
Libya has been in a state of turmoil since the overthrow and killing of its long-time leader, Muammar Gaddafi, in 2011. The country is divided between two governments, with the eastern part controlled by the Libyan National Army, and the western part governed by the UN-backed GNA, led by Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj.
